Every year, there are families that go without Christmas -- either they have lost their job or they are struggling financially just to get the bills paid and to put food on the table.
Everyone knows that Christmas is a time of giving and not receiving, but children see it as a time when they can get that new toy that they have been wanting, or the new clothes that they need.
This year, the Sweeny Police Department, Sweeny Fire and Rescue, and the City of Sweeny are proud to be conducting the 11th Annual Blue Santa Program to help those in our community that are less fortunate. So, PLEASE join us, and help bring a Christmas Memory to those in our Beautiful City that are less fortunate.
We are asking for donations of NEW unopened and unwrapped items for children of all ages or a monetary donation can be made and a receipt will be given for cash donations.
If you would like to adopt out a child/family, contact the Police Department and we will get in contact with you to assign you a child/family.
Donations can be dropped off at the Sweeny Police Department at 123 N. Oak St. or Sweeny City Hall at 102 W. Ashley Wilson Rd.
Applications for the Blue Santa Program are available at the Police Department, City Hall, and online at www.sweenytx.gov.
The deadline for submitting an application for the Blue Santa Program will be on Friday, December 4, 2020, at Noon.
Must be a resident of Sweeny ISD school district or City of Sweeny to apply.
